Vietnam Travel in Brief, a sea travel route linking the central province of Thua Thien-Hue and Beihei of China's Guangxi Province will be launched in October.
The Tourism Department of Thua Thien-Hue said last week that the Guangxi-based Beihei Cruise Ship Tourism Company had been permitted to co-operate with the Hue-based Huong Giang Co to operate the route.
Under an agreement signed between Thua Thien-Hue and Guangxi authorities in April, the new sea travel route will be based on the existing one between Beihei and Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh Vietnam.
When the new route is opened, cruise ships will sail to Chan May Port in Thua Thien-Hue after stopping over in Ha Long Bay Vietnam.
Wine festival planned for Ho Chi Minh City
Tourism Department has unveiled a plan to organise for the first time a wine festival later this year to promote the country's culture and tourism through gastronomy.
Travel to Vietnam, the festival will be a unique event to introduce various types of Vietnamese wines. The event will be included in the annual Taste of the World festival scheduled to take place at Van Thanh Tourist Park in Binh Thanh District from November 30 to December 2.
La Quoc Khanh, deputy director of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, said there would be a Wine House set up at Van Thanh Park to introduce some 36 kinds of traditional wines produced by localities across the country.
Nha Trang to host int'l boogie festival
The International Parachute Association has chosen Nha Trang to organise the International Boogie Festival in April 2008.
This will be the first time the festival has been celebrated in Vietnam. Boogie is a team parachute sport that requires athletes to perform in formations at a height of from 4,000 to 7,000m.
Events include Boogie Fall in which parachutists free-fall and link together, and Boogie Fly in which athletes free form and perform acrobatics at the same time.
Next month the athletes will visit Nha Trang for experimental , flights to prepare for their official performance next April, with the participation of the Vietnamese Air Force.
Quang Ninh prepares for tourism
An international tourism and trade fair will be held in the border town of Mong Cai, Quang Ninh Province, from November 1 -6, aiming to boost trade and tourism between Vietnam and China.
The fair is expected to have 350 to 400 stands, including 100 for foreign companies, doubling the size of the previous fairs in the province, Quang Ninh authority has said.
The fair will showcase products of the fashion industry, household utensils, wood works, home decoration articles, fine arts and handicrafts, farm produce, processed food, construction materials and equipment and tourism services.
It will also include a seminar on commerce, tourism and investment, with participants coming from Quang Ninh and other Vietnamese provinces and foreign enterprises.
Vinpearl Land launches new hotel
VinPearl Land opened a new hotel on Wednesday, increasing the number of five-star rooms to 500 to meet rising demand from travellers to Nha Trang. With investment of VND122bil (US$7.5mil), the new facility faces a beautiful beach on Hon Tre Island in Nha Trang Vietnam.
Dubbed The Tropical Paradise, Vinpearl is expected to host the final round of Miss Vietnam World that is scheduled to take place August 22 to September 3.
