Croatia Holiday Destinations

There are many gorgeous holiday destinations in Croatia. The country is settled on the Adriatic Sea, straight opposite to Italy, in the Northern Mediterranean. With a history dating from over a thousand years, it appeared on the political map of Europe for the first time in 1992, following the break of Yugoslavia after a bloody civil war.

The capital city of Croatia is Zagreb. Visit to this outstanding city puts up itself as the center place of culture and science and is placed between the Adriatic sea-coast and Central Europe. Zagreb also offers its tourists the Baroque ambience of the Upper Town. There are unusual open-air marketplaces which present the browser an assortment of shopping facilities.

The area features many amazing green parks which you can visit including places of pastime in the stunning environment. Zagreb is Croatia’s capital and linked to most other European capitals by Croatia Airlines.

The cheapest way to Zagreb from the UK is by Wizzair which just opened a new service from London to Zagreb. Another low-priced carriers include SNBrussels which has flights from Brussels and Germanwings which has low-priced flights from Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg and Stuttgart. There are buses to Zagreb from other Balkan cities but the train is most commodious if you’re coming from Ljubljana, Venice, Budapest or Vienna.

Zagreb, Croatia’s capital has the form of stately architecture that wouldn’t be out of place in Vienna or Budapest. Plus, it features a little medieval quarter that vaguely resembles Prague. To the north of Zagreb, in the center of green, rolling hills lays Varazdin, Croatia’s most underestimated city. Lying overly distant from the seacoast to draw much tourism, Varazdin nevertheless boasts a stunningly well-preserved baroque center.
