The Quang Nam – Heritage Itinerary Festival was kicked off on the evening of June 27 at Hoi An ancient town Vietnam, a world cultural heritage site, with special art performances along the Hoai River.
Organised on the occasion of the ancient town’s night (an ancient Hoi An town Vietnam is reproduced on the 14th of every lunar month), the ancient town was more colourful.
Dubbed “The meeting of Indochina cultural heritages”, the festival saw the attendance of artists from localities home to world cultural heritage sites of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, such as Vietnam’s Hoi An town, My Son sanctuary, and ancient Hue capital, Cambodia’s Siem Reap and Laos’ Champasak and Luang Phrabang.
Scheduled to last till June 30, the festival will showcase unique performances every night, for example the night for Hoi An-Hue-Luang Phrabang, the night for My Son-Wat Phou-Angkor, the parade of old motorbikes, boat racing, Indochina food festival, among others.
With two world cultural heritage sites, Hoi An and My Son, the host Quang Nam has organised this event to highlight the quintessence of world cultural heritage sites of the three Indochina countries.
Quang Nam – Heritage Itinerary Festival is an important step in Quang Nam’s plan to cooperate with localities at home and abroad that have world cultural heritages to conduct large-scale tourism projects.
